I recieved my battery today and it snaps in but sticks out almost an inch. Is this supposed to happen?? Pretty disappointing. I’m going to call Dell and ask them if this is a common issue being a 9-cell. Haven’t tried to use it yet probably will return.

The problem is, it is an EXTENDED life battery.
No where in the description does it say it will extend 3/4″ out the back of my laptop.
There are no dimensions listed, either.
I called Brillant Store and they gave me an item number for the SAME sized battery.
I was told I could return the extended one AT MY COST and order the other one.
I was also told that MOST people UNDERSTOOD that a 9 cell means it will be BIGGER and extend out the back of the laptop.
Not Me. I didn’t know that.
They stated that it will work fine and will last longer than the normal sized one.
They also said that the weight of the laptop in a carrier, will not bother the battery since it would be sitting with all the weight of the laptop ON THE BATTERY since it sits 3/4″ beyond the back of the laptop.
So, I will think it over and decide.
I am not happy with this situation.
It could have been avoided with the proper wording and dimensions listed.

It has worked so far, the seller sent it out right away with a pretty guarantee for a compatible product, we’ll see how long it works….I’d rexommend the seller.

This is my first experience in buying a laptop battery and I hadn’t expected it to perform very well.
I got the battery for my Vostro 1500 and i’m glad that I choose this. Although the battery does stick out the back, the performance is amazing, the battery power lasts for more almost 5hrs and thats awesome.
Its a great value for the money except for the minor thing that it protudes from the back.

This was my second replacement battery for my wife’s Vostro 1500. The first battery lasted just over a year to make it out of warranty. I refused to pay Dell the ridiculous sum they were asking for a battery, so instead got a no-name battery off of EBay for under $50. That battery lasted all of 3 months. My wife used her laptop plugged in for a long while until we got this battery.
This battery does stick out the back, just like any other 9-cell battery, but it doesn’t stick out far. More importantly it has given her PC absurd battery life. She used it for at least 4 hours straight last night with on issues (Windows 7 reported at then end of 4 hours, “Warning your battery is low, you only have 1 hour 30 minutes remaining”). I’m hoping this will last longer than the junk we got from EBay, if it does, it’s a great deal.
