I normally take a 9.5 or 10 in a women’s shoe and the 9.5 in these was way too big! I returned them.

I have 3 pair of Skechers Shape Ups, and although they are all very comfortable the black Mary Janes do not appeal to me. Black shoes with massive outsoles look very gothic to me, and I do not wear them very often. I prefer the sneaker Shape Ups. Yes, they are still not very elegant, but hey – they are sneakers. I also find the sneaker pair to “sit” better on my feet, the Mary Janes are a little loose. Skechers Women’s Shape Ups – Strength Fitness Walking Sneaker

Do they work? The answer is I don’t know. Yes, I do feel that my legs are a little more tired after walking for a few hours, but not much. The Shape Ups seems to be a little “unstable” and I am not sure they do my ancles any favors. However, I will continue to use my sneaker Shape Ups hoping that they will do miracles over time.

Would I buy them again? I would buy the sneakers under doubt, but skip the other two pairs. I have not tried the MBT or any of the other versions of it, so I can’t compare.

I bought these not so much for the exercise but because my massage therapist was wearing a pair, which she said was SUPER comfortable! (She had the regular lace-up style, not this Mary Jane which I thought was a little cuter & liked the easy-on/off velcro straps.) I didn’t really care about the curved bottom, only that it DID look really comfy on her. It’s not quite as comfortable that I had hoped but to my SURPRISE, my legs DO feeling like they’re getting more of a workout compared to wearing regular walking shoes. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS & PAMPHLET that comes w/ the shoes. It does take a little getting used to like they say but the muscle toning can’t be a bad thing, so I will probably continue to use them. One thing about this particular style (the Mary Jane straps instead of a lace-up), the Velcro straps need to be rather snug in order for the shoe not to feel loose when it rocks, so it makes for a rather tight feeling fit. The toe part feels like it’s a half-a-size too small but maybe it needs to be that way otherwise there’d be too much movement inside the show. Not sure if it’s cuz of the MaryJane straps or if it’s different w/ other Shape-Up styles. I love the color which matches nicely w/ everything. Oh! One thing. The MESH panels have a sturdy lining behind them so they’re not quite as cool & airy as they look. Still, an interesting concept & worth it if the health/movement/muscle benefit is as good for you as it claims.

I ordered this style and another style of Skechers in the same size, but this one definitely was too small. It feels as though it is about 1/2 size smaller.

I suffer from arthritis-related joint pain, mostly in my back, hips, and knees, and these shoes are fabulous. They allow me to stay on task longer (without feeling the need to rest), stand straighter, and afterward I feel invigorated. I bought the gray/pink version for gym usage and the black Mary Jane sneakers for everyday wear (and this winter I’m wearing them with black socks to allow me to enjoy them sooner rather than later). I just wish they had more style variety, but I’m sure that’s coming. I plan on buying more!
